Dean Young is the second generation owner and creator of the Blondie comic strip. 
In a July 8, 2005 USA Today full page article commemorating Blondie’s 75th Anniversary, the President of King Features (the licensing company that contracts Blondie and Dagwood into numerous retail categories) said of the Blondie strip, “It’s without a doubt the biggest strip we represent, core to everything we do.”

Dean dedicates a considerable percentage of his time to menu development and public relations promoting the Dagwood’s Sandwich Shoppes brand.
